On rare occasion it would be wrong number and the caller would always apologize.
So where did all these scammers and con artists come from? The folks in Nigeria and other exotic locals who call to tell you you've won something but have to send money first. Or that your grandchild is in trouble nd needs money? The folks who fall for it are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Why are humans that track? Going downhill fast? When did the rise of con artists and scammers get to be such a lucrative profession? I know long ago there were SNAKE OIL SALESMEN and folks fell for the "magic elixir that cures all ills". But never on such large scale.
