How's your morning?

Since I have today and tomorrow off my neighbors asked if I would help them out of a pinch. Down a vehicle and working opposite shifts they asked if I would mind watching their kid a few hours in the morning for two days while one goes to work and the other is waiting to get out.

I went over at 6 and we had chocolate milk and cereal on the porch while she told about the dogs eating their chicken off the counter the night before. It appears the story is worth retelling in detail even though I was there when they found it. Somehow a 4 year old has psychic abilities that allows them to piece together every detail of the crime scene after the fact. It was quite the fascinating drama. After that we watched Coraline while she made play-doh ice cream cones before her mom got home.
It was actually a pretty relaxing morning and an enjoyable glimps of a life experience I never experienced first hand. I ain't signing up to be a sitter anytime soon, or ever, but it was fun once

Did they PAY you?  I think they should give you a dollar.

It was a great slice-of-life story.  My morning is getting up and listening to my birds talk to me. I have no idea what they are saying. It is heaven.

  • I have birds as well.   They just live outside by the feeders.

Gris-gris McMuffin and OFF JAG DONALD - - I really enjoyed this entire thread. This is the second thread in two days that hit me strongly in a good way.
      Thanks.
    :)

I enjoyed reading your question in its entirety, too, Gris-gris McMuffin.

In general, I enjoy reading most threads but this one  -- and one yesterday - - just sort of stood out.
    :)

(Sharonna was in the other one, too!)

Gris-Gris can write.  Nice technique too.

So can you, Welby.  So, it's a nice compliment to him as well.

I agree with you, OFF JAG DONALD. I enjoyed this question -- and I enjoyed this entire thread, with you and Gris-gris McMuffin. Thanks.

You cannot interrupt on here.  Or I would not be allowed on here.  That's all I do.

Being with a child for a a few hours can be an eye-opening experience.  We are accustomed to seeing life through the lens of adult eyes and the experiences that have shaped us.  Children have the ability to see things as they truly are without all the grown-up baggage that can distort the view.

  • I was so thankful to see daylight slowly filter through the trees this morning. It had been a long impatient wait for dawn, spent chewing nails to the quick, and trying to breathe ever so quietly. The night was lonely, dark, and foreboding.

Against my better judgement I had spent the prior evening watching a movie with my boyfriend, "The Midnight Meat Train" as it is called. I didn't make it all the way through the flick before I squeamishly requested it be turned off. Even now the images are still in my head, but at least my head is still attached. Not surprisingly, he fell asleep not at all bothered by the movie but rather more concerned about its affect on me. I on the other hand could not fall asleep due to its blood splattered moments leaving stains on my memory.

I've a heart that's rather soft and fluffy and smoothly polished. I don't deal well with the jagged, serrated edges of things. So I counted the seconds, the minutes, the hours, till safety arrived dressed brightly as a new day. I doubt very seriously that I will ever be groomed and truly ready to witness "A Serbian Film" but could one ever be?.

In the meantime, you wanna hear something really scary? I think I'm gonna make him binge watch Hallmark movies with me in the coming week. Anything with Candice Cameron will do.  To my recollection, I've never seen her with a meat cleaver in her hand or in her skull.

Excuse me.  I'm sorry I know you two love one another and I do NOT question that depth at all.  I feel it through the web circuitry.  HOWEVER, if he loves you?  WHY?  WHY IN GOD'S NAME would he suggest this movie?

COME ON.  That is like me making a child watch child porn.  I don't know what you two get out of this but it is not healthy.  Try using your brilliant wits to come up with a better routine for nighty night.

  • In all fairness to "The Goat" it is not always at his request that we watch these type of movies.  Yes, he does enjoy them occasionally, but more often than not I have been the one who has expressed a morbid interest in them lately.  I think its because I have always been so sheltered from such things that I have become naturally curious.  Sometimes overcoming one's fears is done by facing them.  The flip side though, is that on occasion it can increase and enhance them.

Rest assured however, we watch plenty of things. We both enjoy vintage movies very much.  Who doesn't love a larger than life screen diva from the golden age of Hollywood?  We also like staying up to date on the latest queer cinema offerings.  When possible, Its nice to watch movies with themes that speak to us.  Sometimes the nights entertainment might be nothing more than the two of us curling up together and drifting off while sleepily talking and laughing as TV shows that are sweet and benign as Bewitched plays on in the background.  And of course, let us not forget that there are copious amounts of porn sprinkled into the mix.

Its all just part of the fun of being together.  Making memories.  I'm sure the terror felt now will be something we look back on and laugh about later.  He loves me, and he's very respectful of my limitations and I appreciate that.  I think sometimes I'm just too tender.  As long as he's there beside me though, whenever I'm in the dark, and I feel the boogey-man lurking, I know I'll be more than OK.  He's got this!

That actor looks rather handsome, though. That'd be a possible plus.
    :)

I don't do so well in certain movie genres anymore --  ask The Goat about the original 1997 "Funny Games" -- I know he's seen it and, I know you and I have talked about it, too, but forgive me if you've already told me, I can't remember if you've seen it. I think he said he would not watch it again -- I won't either - - but it's a fasntastic film.
