Our ancestors in the long ago were TOUGHER BRAVER STRONGER SMARTER than we today. They survived. We would not have. Why are we so SOFT?

Wimps. Weak. Needy. Cowardly. Sheesh. What we have become is shameful. What we were? Magnificent.

Because.  We earned it.  We are products of human ingenuity.   Rare is the human that would choose to live in a cave and rough it when he has access to a house and a tv and a lounger.  I don't think hunting for food is on my menu today.

We are soft because it is human nature and we are all products of our environment.  Cushy feels good and roughing it involves pain.  We don't like pain thus we grow soft.  And fat.  And lazy. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at August 3, 2019 2:02 AM MDT

If there were a global EMP ... most people in the developed nations would die within the first year.
Lack of medicines, water, ready-to-eat foods, heat, air conditioning.
The main survivors would be people who had survival training (usually from the military), and those who grow their own gardens and hunt.

Does that mean we are "weaker" than our ancestors?
    I don't think so.
It means we don't have their training.

On the other side ... drop one of our ancestors in modern times, and they would likely be dead within a week.
Kinda like the ending of "War of the Worlds" - they just don't have the resistances to modern viruses and bacteria that we do.
