    Not very long as the effect becomes somewhat exponential, subject to any limits given by the enclosing barrel.

    I suspect your question is a political metaphor - well, I think similar applies among corruptible people.

    I would not like to say but the corruption must have already been well-established before the election itself.

    Until the event, I don't think many people outside of America had even heard of Donald John Trump. In Britain he first came to notice as an American property speculator specialising in buying other countries' sensitive landscape areas and replacing them with golf-courses despite legal controls supposed to prevent anyone from gaining the planning-permission.
