Truth has become meaningless these days. People would rather do and believe whatever they wish, whatever makes them "comfortable" - be it religious truth, political truth, or ordinary "everyday" truth. People hate being told they are wrong. So if they get rid of truth, then they can't be wrong. Problem solved. The result is a world of lies, falsehoods, exaggerations, and a dearth of trust.

Tribes and mobs find strength in numbers. When you divorce from ideals nowadays, you leave your family. We are in a situation where people CANNOT leave the fake truth because their friends, family, society and lifestyle are all based on the adherence to the lies. THE GROUP knows there is strength in numbers. The group does not like any form of dissent from any of its tribe. It is chaotic to them and too confusing. THEY NEED SOLIDARITY. So if you question anything? You are threatening their strength in numbers.
Everthing Shuhak said is perfect and I just add this as a footnote and just look at the SENATE to see the perfect example of what I am saying.
