The holes in the dam began January 2017. The hole deniers are running out of fingers and toes to block the holes. When does it end?

How long before the dam bursts and they all fall down and drown?

If lowest unemployment in decades some history. Booming GDP and increased stock market (it did not hit 20000 until Trump and it is still over 25000)....border security etc is being held back....let it burst. This post was edited by my2cents at August 24, 2019 9:18 AM MDT

None of which Trump is directly or solely responsible for.
It can be pointed out that these things are happening in spite of Trump’s ineptitude, authoritarian leanings, clumsy policy attempts, consistent diplomatic failures and divisive, deceitful, and often unhinged rhetoric.
He has done nothing to secure the future of any aspect of American Democracy. Nothing. Hence his historic unpopularity.

Please lie to us some more about the played-out “wonderful“ tax plan that benefitted us rich folks who don’t need it, and exploded the deficit another trillion; his misunderstanding of who actually pays tariffs; and what his “love” of Kim Jong Un has actually accomplished.
Or  maybe you could further expound on what a great guy he really is, or how you rationalize all of the bold promises yet unfulfilled, or more compellingly, how you define leadership.

If none is his fault....then why do you care?

If you do not want you tax cut feel free to donate it back to the US government. They will take it.
    I got a tax cut....I ain't rich. Everyone got a tax cut.
If we go into this long predicted recession remember you cannot blame Trump if none is his fault on the upside, it would be not his fault on the downside.

I do not know him...I have no way to evaluate if he his a great guy.....I like the majority of the policies...those are what count. This post was edited by my2cents at August 24, 2019 9:51 AM MDT

Maybe because the unworthy President is so quick to conjure up any credit, real and imagined (ably lavished upon him by blindered partisans like you) while shirking any responsibility for everything that doesn’t flatter him, and reflexively demonizing all dissent. Again, real and imagined.

I still care because I am an American, I live here, I served this country in harm’s way in faraway lands, have paid millions of dollars in taxes in my life, and I have American grandchildren whose generation is in line to suffer for what Trump has wrought. I am rich, and your “tax break” was pennies by comparison. You deserved better.

Moreover, I am frankly sickened by the petulant circus barker currently disgracing the Office and the nation, pretending to be king, loosing an unending stream of bile, dishonesty, incompetence and petty self-aggrandizement.
(To aid your definition, this is the antithesis of positive leadership)

That you are not vocally averse to the disgrace, or at least can’t admit that it is, will be something we shall revisit when he falls. This post was edited by Don Barzini at August 25, 2019 4:57 AM MDT

I am sure you got more of a tax cut than I did. It is a matter of %s. If you have a much money as you claim....Trump could have reduced mine to $0 and it still would have been nothing in comparison. So do you donate your tax cut to the US gov. I notice many rich folk claim to want to pay more but do not know of any who actually do it. This post was edited by my2cents at August 25, 2019 5:57 AM MDT

We give our money to worthy charities, M2C. We buy stuff. We hire people. When we do this, it powers the economy. We do, and you do; not politicians, not whatever Trump calls himself today. The economy is not his to claim. If he does, then he deserves blame, too.

As the US government is such an historically poor custodian of our tax dollars, it is a damn stupid choice to hand over any more than they already take without our approval. It will never be enough. More revenue only gives impetus to larger debt.
I’m rich largely because I don’t make these kinds of choices. This post was edited by Don Barzini at August 25, 2019 5:56 AM MDT

I understand that and agree. The point is there are several rich people who are very vocal about thinking they should pay more taxes....then I think they should pay them. Or shut up.

There are, of course, checks and balances on such things.
The IRS doesn’t accept “un-due” tax payments, or overpayments as free donations. They are directed by the tax laws what must be collected or refunded.
This comes back to well-heeled citizens directing their monies to worthy causes on their own, usually with more productive results. (I think we can agree the govt does a terrible job managing agencies)
Look at the Gates Foundation as an example, where the richest billionaires (but not you know who) are voluntarily giving away large portions of their vast fortunes to charities.

As a point of fact, charitable donations are down, but not as a function of what the wealthy give, but because fewer members of the supposedly “loaded with money” middle class are able to. This in turn, is a function of stagnant wages and increasing debt. More people have jobs, yes, but their debt is greater as a percentage of earnings, so their costs to live are greater. Most can’t afford stocks, or have little savings. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has little or no effect on their net worth.

With President Nimrod vindictively crapping all over China, with no deal in place or in sight, this cannot improve. People who shop at Walmart -the middle and poor classes- will pay most for this.

I did not say over pay your income taxes that would be refunded. I said make a donation to the US government. That is allowed and will be accepted. So as I said they should either do that or shut up about it.

Any one can go to  https://www.pay.gov any time and donate to the government.

Which I’m sure you have. Yeah, right.

I’ve paid my share, dear. Yours and others as well, many times over. I’d rather send it directly to people who need it.
You know, what governments are SUPPOSED to do.

What truly separates rich from poor is their financial strategy. Throwing more cash at the govt would only make everyone poor.  This post was edited by Don Barzini at August 25, 2019 9:35 AM MDT

I am not one of the people claiming anyone should pay more in taxes. I say take every legal deduction allowed.
I was talking about tbose vocal rich folks who like to say "we should pay more"....Sanders, Warren Buffet and the 200 or so memebers of the Patriotic Millionaires.  They should be donating what the exess is that they feel they are being undertaxed. But of course they do not.
