I expect most of us say/think "What does he see in her/what does she see in him?" Is what you "see in someone" for your eyes only?

Some couples seem to be meant for each other. Others seem to be so totally not. What is that indefinable something that attracts people to one another? Not the one-night-stand booty call at all. The long-term abiding commitment and deep affection they have for each other which keeps them faithful?

    Initially it was her eyes - ice blue crystals that pierced me to my very soul. Since then, it's a union more of spirits than of physical selves - we complement and complete each other. She loved me when I was particularly unlovable- that kind of loyalty can only be repaid in kind. Thirty years, four kids (two stillborn) and two grandkids later ...     Me too R. The first thing I noticed about Jim were his eyes. Kind blue eyes. That's the only way I can describe it. It proved to summarize what he is through and through. Thank you for your beautiful and thoughtful reply. I appreciate it! Happy Tuesday to you! :)
