What does it feel like when conquering hostile foreign troops parade down the streets of your country?. Any of you experience that?

I've only seen it in the movies...so far...luckily.  I "experienced" it visually in the safety of my theater seat or in the safety of my home via the TV screen. It was very scary and it wasn't ACTUALLY happening. You?

    In high school, I actually had a teacher who was a little girl in Lithuania when it was invaded twice (during WW2).  
    First by the Russians, then by the Germans.
