I heard the other day on NPR (TED talk) that scientists think everything may have a conscious ... even though it may not be sentient. They were saying that even atoms may have a conscious. That totally blows my mind.
Just read about it yesterday Walt. Have you heard of the GAIA hypothesis?

"Organism"? Living breathing entity? I dunno but if you think about it aren't we all made of the same "stuff"? Years ago Carl Sagan said we are made of "star stuff". Everything and everyone? As far as the inanimate having a "conscious" it reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode which I might have mentioned to you before. All the electrical appliances in the apartment turn on the occupant and attack him for his abuse of them. The toaster and the coffee pot and the knife sharpener and the clock and etcetera and so forth. Very scary that. There is so much more mystery to life than knowledge so I guess if we ever find out what the he** this was all about we'll either be blissfully surprised or shocked by the horror of it! In the meantime thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! Also there is an hypothesis that states we are God/God is us collectively. Put that in your pipe and try to smoke it! "Man can achieve anything he can conceive." Really? See? Confusion reigns and taxes our brains not to mention the rest of us! :)
That Twilight Zone episode plot reminds me of the movie Maximum Overdrive. Basically the same thing ... but everything came alive and turned against humans due to aliens. Which is why self-driving vehicles make me wary. You know somebody is going to put a giant goblin face on a self-driving "big rig".

Didn't even think about chump but as I told Spunky now that you brought it up I visualize a face and it very much resembles well you know who don't you? Do worms HAVE faces?
