Avid fans of the television game show "Jeopardy!", what do you think you'll do if new episodes don't ever return?

The show has been airing nothing but reruns for about a month now. Our dearly beloved host, Alex Trebek, is struggling through the ravages of cancer, and might not be well enough to make a comeback. Before departing, he graciously bade us a heartfelt temporary goodbye, but the current hiatus appears to be dragging on indefinitely. Personally, I find the reruns EXCRUTIATINGLY brutal to watch, and I haven't been able to enjoy them even in the slightest way. I abandoned them after only a night or two.

Now exists the possibility that the show itself is in peril. I can't imagine a replacement host will meet with my approval, and I wonder whether or not life will be the same without Alex Trebek and the show. (Ok, I'm being overly dramatic there, but deep down inside, the sentiment is real.)

It is so sad.  He is such a nice human.  I hope he is doing okay.  I hope he is not in pain.  My dad passed away from pancreatic cancer and it does not get better.  I wish him a miracle.

Be well, Alex.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

They may do Jeapordy, still.  But the way technology is progressing, it is hard to imagine it will ever be the same.

I thought I recently read that Alex Trebeck has responded well to his cancer treatments and will be coming back with the show shortly.  Summer has a lot of reruns for many of the regular shows, so this is the month when most of them come back with new episodes.  Personally, I can't wait for the new season to begin.  CBS has had the most awful replacements - Love Island, Big Brother - and the rest have been reruns.

EDIT:  Return date is listed as September 11. This post was edited by SpunkySenior at September 7, 2019 12:25 PM MDT
