  • Then why are philosophers, college professors, military leaders, statesmen, teachers, writers and scientists just as capable of hating and are just as susceptible to demonstrating hate? Are they not thinkers? Hate is not an emotion. It is a human condition on the same level as every other human failing including avarice, jealousy, covetousness, greed, selfishness, etc. Emotion can come into play as a symptom, but it is not the root of the condition.
