NFL superbowl 1/2 time show. With Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. 2004.

They made us suffer during halftime shows for a few years after that. (Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen....finally got it back to more current artists in 2011)

How did they make us suffer?  I am not clear what you mean. I do remember the incident.  I do remember they both kind of tried to throw each other under the bus.  Janet saying she had NO COMMENT.  (while she was getting ready to release her latest album) and Justin practically in tears from the stress saying he had NOTHING to do with this idea and just went along and Janet was supposed to have a secure pastey on.

Well, I don't see how this MOVE enhanced their popularity.  They had to kind of outlive that one and move on.

The halftimes shows were bad for several years after that. The artists were good...30 or so years earlier the voice ages and it is not as good)

I agree.  Go home and spend your money Stones.  Basta!  LOL  And Steve Perry?  I don't know if he did halftime.  But I LOVED HIS VOICE and it is different and I don't need to hear the demise.  A lot of singers who depend on the tone and strength of their instrument are the ones we notice the most.  And if you are beautiful or handsome, you suffer more when you age.

Look at Blondie.  Well, they all need to get day jobs by the time they hit around 50.  That is kind actually.  I don't want to see a 50 year old Adam Levine.   This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at September 12, 2019 11:51 AM MDT
