Some folks say they like animals better than they like human beings. A few say they prefer machines . Are human beings falling in popularity? It used to be cool to be one. What happened, when and why?

i tend to like animals better myself

Humans suck. Facebook happened! Hence people expressing their love for animals on their pages, so that people will like them. People caught on to this manipulation and went off people and decided to focus their love on machines. 

I have no interest in Facebook or Twitter or any of those other internet monstrosities that suck people up, chew them and spit them out. I think they are inherently evil.  Terrorists use them to recruit or plan attacks.. Bullies use them to attack/insult/demean/stalk/threaten. I see zero value in them and I have no idea why so many people are addicted to them. Maybe it's just the humans who join those sites who suck. I don't know because I'm not among them.
