If not what does it mean and why do you think so?

I contemplated suicide in high school.  Who hasn't?  It is a time for all hormones and all manner of zits and paranoia to BLOOM in FULL REGALIA.   And I didn't have it bad in high school at ALL.

It is normal and a part of growing up to me.  I am not someone who went out and bought pills or tried to stab myself or jump off a cliff. But I did dream about it often.  An escape.  Then I would think what would happen and I would go another route in my mind.  That is as far as it went.   So, my point is, thinking about life and death and one's control of it is NORMAL. And when pressed past the brink of any tools a kid may have to fight off the terror and anxiety of a problem that seems insurmountable, could be the result of too many preservatives in their food, or a genetic anomaly, or other kids bullying them.

Anything can set off an adolescent who has no past history of how to deal with seemingly insurmountable problems.  GUIDANCE is key.  Parents today are probably no worse than parents at any time.  There are always great role models with many more parents who leave much to be desired.

I am also tired of hearing how kids today are much worse.  NO. They are the same.  The times have many obstacles. Today's kids have a lot to overcome, but they also have a lot more tools to do it with.  If you are a kid in the  1950's and your father is molesting you, what would you do?  Now?  You can go on your computer and report him to the local police who will be at your door with a counselor for you and a jail for daddy in the same day.  So, we have to weigh and measure how many suicides are ACTUALLY contemplated.  We have a lot more people now, so the suicide rates will be higher.  It is part and parcel of the overpopulation problem. You WHAT? You did? I was painfully shy and what I wanted most in the world was to be INVISIBLE! But suicide? I never once contemplated that. You say it's "normal" when you say "who hasn't" Are you serious Sharon? Why would you think that? Good GOD! Well maybe I've lived a very sheltered life but no matter how bad things ever got for me at most what I wanted to do was go to sleep and wake up AFTER whatever it was that bothered me went away. I always LOVED life. ALWAYS. Taking my own life? That is nuts. Sorry but that's just how I feel about it. Thank you for your reply. Gotta ask.
