Some people make it real easy to cut off.  It's the ones that you aren't sure they meant to be rude that take a little figuring out.

Some have medical conditions like bipolar disease which causes them to be sugary sweet  one minute and sour as vinegar the next . They cannot help it.  I expect if they take their meds they do better than if they don't. So if you know that is the cause you can cut them slack. Even then after awhile it becomes too tiresome to sustain and you move on without looking back. There is only so much patience I can give to one person. When it's used up there is none left. But I am not a patient person. You probably are Pea Pod. At least more so than me which is not saying much! Thank you for your  reply and Happy Thursday! :)

In real life, it depends on their relationship to me. I will give family more lean way than friends and friends more than someone I just met. But I will cut off anyone who keeps it up.

On a question and answer site I have never just decided to completely ignore anyone....it is the reason we are here. I also know that sometimes it is hard to get your meaning clear in just text.

My son is bipolar.  I have to be patient, even when I am dying inside.  And yes, I understand how he can't help what he does when he's really off the deep end.  But what I tell him is that he is still responsible for taking his medications as prescribed and calling on the professionals when he feels himself slipping.  When he doesn't do that, he is responsible for the consequences.

Thank you for your reply m2c.  If someone is consistently is rude, always insults, never contributes anything thoughtful, useful, helpful or substantive why would you waste your time interacting with such a person? I choose not to waste time with them. You choose to interact. Different strokes.  Happy Friday! :) I am not here to be a punching bag or door mat for anyone. I'm here to have a good time . Learn something. Share what I know  WITH CIVILITY. I am due that. I give that to others. I expect it in return. :)
