Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Bernie Sanders had blocked arteries and underwent a procedure where two stents were inserted. Age has its consequences. Are you worried?
Too funnee hunnee. While it would not be pleasant at all to experience incontinence I worry about Alzheimer's or senility or whatever can take away my mind. SIGH. Hopefully neither one of us will experience what we worry about. Thank you for your reply Zack and Happy Wednesday! :)
I'm not worried about his health. My mom has had the same operation a few times.
I would be worried if he was elected as President.
Of course, I think we should have an upper age limit on the Presidency. Or at least a mental/physical health qualification ... that would kick in the same way as death, with the VP taking over.
I totally agree with thee Walt but I think you know that. I AM OLD. Almost 82. I KNOW everything about me is not as good as it once was. That is not a good thing for a president. To be not at the top of his/her game. For my age I think I'm doing pretty good BUT really that's because my life is safe and predictable and I call the shots. I can handle me. I cannot handle the world. I KNOW that. I wonder why Bernie doesn't? Or Joe Biden? SIGH. Thank you for your reply and Happy Thursday! :)
I completely agree with thee. Bernie is and always has been VERY INTENSE. Nothing relaxed or kicked back or casual about the man. I admire that passion but it does take a toll. I wonder if that toll has already been reached and I wonder if he might wthdraw? If I were his wife I'd want my guy to live as long as possible and we know the presidency ages the occupants. Thank you for your reply L! I'm gonna ask.
:) I feel sad for him if he is in fact contemplating withdrawing. I'm sure his docs have consulted with him and what they advise will probably be what he does.
I do feel bad for him to have come this far only to have to drop out when he is in the top three of the running. But, I also would be concerned that continued stress from campaigning and the demands of the office he seeks could do him in. I would be hesitant to chance voting for him unless there is no other choice.
That might work Sharon but I'm gonna ask a question about Bernie. If he were your husband wouldn't you want him to withdraw? I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply! :)
Yes, I would. I want him to withdraw anyway. I don't want him to get sick over this. GOD no. We have Elizabeth Warren and she can do this thing and we can have Bernie in a better place when he is rested and the Democracy is back to healing status. Bernie is a great healer and bringer together of all of us. Maybe this could be a blessing because we won't have people divided against them in the Primaries.
