    Nope.  They mealy comment (give their opinion).  It's up to their audience to weigh that opinion carefully for validity before assuming its fact.

    Unfortunately, many people assume whatever a commentator says is a valid and regurgitate it as fact.

    I never thought about it before Shuhak. So when you comment you are just are giving your opinion unless you are commenting on a provable fact. But it's still your take on it. Now propagandists comment and commentate all the time but it promulgates bullsh** partisan lies 24/7 and a certain segment of homo sap swallows all the bullsh** lies as if they were the honest ta gawd truth. Which it never is. SIGH. Thank you for your reply m'dear! :).

    The two words have different meanings.

    To commentate is to report on an event as it occurs, especially for a news or sports broadcast; provide a running commentary.

    A commentator will either comment or commentate depending on the job at hand.
