I bought one of those things a few years ago and it was glass so naturally, I broke it within 3 months and have not replaced it.  I don't see the big whip about it.

  • Sometimes.  I prefer a percolator with coarse ground light roast. None of that Euro trash dark roast crap.

No.  I have a FP but it is not my favorite method.  I prefer a one-cup drip maker............not a Kcup thing.    I like my coffee piping hot and filtered through a paper filter.   When you don't do that you get too much oil which is not good for certain health conditions.  The FP leaves a messy cleanup and the coffee cools off too much even if you start with boiling water, which is the improper brewing temp anyway.  I use it if I run out of filters but that's about it.

The word "French" is the big whip about it.  It is not in my top three ways to brew coffee.

I like perked coffee too.  I have a stove top perker but don't use it daily.  If I have a few guests I make a pot of coffee.  When it's just us we use the one-cup drop brewer (not K-cup).

  • Many say they don'd make good coffee. They make the best if you know how to use one.

I grew up using a stovetop perker.  I do use a paper filter now which I didn't do until about five years ago.  I think it tastes better but more important, it filters oil which is not healthy for me.  I drink four-eight cups of coffee daily.  It has great benefits, but for some it needs to be filtered.  I'm one of them.
