I think in many ways, life gets simpler as you age because you're solved most of your problems already. The ones you face as you age are mostly things you can't do much about, like wrinkles. Happy Thursday. :)
From birth to death. It is fraught with obstacles. And I don't think a dwindling mental capacity is EVER necessary. It is part of growing old because of what we eat. Not for any other reason. Those who are healthy at 90 are as sharp as they were at 20. We have a lot more baggage in our heads as we age, and we need to sort out the priorities. If you age gracefully, you are someone who has put the silly aside and just concentrate on what matters in life. Love your family and love one another like you wish to be loved.
That is all we came in with and that is all we take with us.
There's no such thing as a declined learning capacity (from age). As people age they tend to become set in their ways (I already know it all and no one's gonna to tell me otherwise).
Life can be either simpler or more complicated. It depends on one's perspective. Simpler as in, you've already been through a lot (in life) and have learned to "weed out" the unnecessary (why worry?). Complicated as in, they keep changing things that worked fine in the first place (such as insurance forms, "Real ID", iPhones, and such <exaggerated humor)).
