What is more normal here? Seeking out those with whom you don't get along so you can engage in battle or avoiding them?

I'm an avoider. I don't have the luxury of time on my side to waste any of it. So I try not to do so.

Some people always seem to be in one battle or another with one someone or another for one reason or another. Always. Is that a life you'd want to live? What do they get out of it?

I would if I knew what a Pinny is D. I don't have a clue. Do you have one? How often do you wear yours? Thank you for your reply. Your turn! :)

It's  femine  apron Rosie.  It's what my parents and grand parents called them...a waitress dressed in black wears a white one to stop splashes..
I thought it was a global word for all English speaking countries ..:(

If it is then I'm outside that loop. I only know APRON. There are some very sturdy plain industrial ones and some very frilly fancy ones that are silly because they're so expensive you don't want them to get dirty! What's the point of wearing one of those? I don't know but long ago I had one. At the time I wasn't aware of the irony. I think getting older helps seeing the ridiculous the banal the inane. Thank you for your reply D.

Expensive aprons are for show on wanabe cooks to indicate to guests that what they are about to eat was prepared by them but mostly come from packets..
When I work in my dads timber joinery workshop, I wear a quite thick leather apron  he brought me and insists I wear...it has a large front double pocket and chest pockets for pencils and sharp knives..

When cooking in decent cloths ,even one tiny spot of olive oil is difficult to remove....

I only buy anything because of its suitability to do what it was designed for....not as a fashion statement....
I buy my own tools and only but it feels the most expensive ones....
Have you heard of Festool or Flex  ?

Hahahahahahaha! Funnee hunnee! Frilly is only for show to impress! Sheesh. Not my cuppa tea. You know over here there are some gals who are the LEADS on construction cable TV shows. They are so good at what they do but it is kinda strange to see a gorgeous gal destroying things so they can build things. Just as I'm not used to seeing female truck drivers or firewomen I'm not used to seeing gals super proficient in using tools. I'd love to see you dressed to build in your leather apron using some piece of machinery the name of which I probably don't even know. I can visualize it but not your face. You buy your own tools but can you use that cost as a tax writeoff? I expect Brits pay income taxes too, right D? Thank you for your informative reply! :)
