    I respected his values and contributions to society ... but even as a kid I found his voice creepy.
    It was just ... I dunno ... too controlled.

    How old were you at the time Walt? My son was a toddler and loved him and so I loved him too. He was very calm quiet comforting. He was trying to make kids feel safe. I could never figure why some were so vitriolic when they spoke of him. Different strokes. Thank you for your reply! :) He was a gentle quiet man. Not a tough macho dude. There are too many of the latter for my taste and not nearly enough of the former.
