KNOW YOUR VALUE. Some organization directed at women. Here's the thing. How does anyone know what his/her value is? Who decides that? YOU?

An arrogant conceited  supercilious condescending sociopath psychopath  crackpot wackadoodle certainly is gonna assess his/her value at awesome big. Extremely. Profoundly. Wisdomly.

Similarly a modest person way well under assess his/her value because being a conceited a** is not his/her cuppa tea.

So who decides TRUE VALUE? Friends or foes are gonna skew it. What independent detached INTELLIGENT source is there to nail it?

The organization simply lets women know what other people doing the same job get paid. So the women knows what she should request when asking for a raise. While having the confidence in knowing she is not over reaching or under reaching. It is knowledge.

According to economists ... the average value of a human life is $50,000 or $129,000 (depending on which study you go with).

Going by my2cents answer, though ... I'm not sure why women need an organization for that, since there are multiple sites that allow anyone to look up the salary for not just a job position but also location.  (EG: A business analyst in NYC vs San Francisco.)

I don't think it is limited to wages Walt though I could be wrong. Apart from the financial aspect. How do you know what your value is? To whom? For what? How long? I think those 3 words are very profound and not that easy to sluff off or answer effectively.

My value to me varies. My value to others I have no way of knowing. Some folks may be very kind so they don't hurt my feelings. Some may be shy and don't tell me how they feel. Some may want something from me so they are very flattering. So knowing my value to myself is hard enough. Knowing what it may be to others I think is a question no one can answer. Just my thoughts. Yup ... when you think about it, there is no way to "know your value" because "value" is subjective.
Take an example of someone who suffers bipolar depression ... one minute, they value themselves highly - the next minute, they don't.
Or someone may value looks over personality, while another person does the opposite.

Precisely! Remember Karen Carpenter? She was anorexic and I guess when an anorexic looks in the mirror she sees a very fat person. Her view of herself was badly distorted physically. So too can our value of ourselves be distorted emotionally mentally spiritually. It's a crapshoot. If you stick to financial you can insist on being paid what you think you're worth. The boss will either agree or disagree. Easy peasy simple superficial. It's all the other things we and others value that are the tough ones. Self-image self-worth self-centered self-conscious. All of that plays a part and to the extent that our views of self is accurate then it is to that extent we have a hope of valuing ourselves enough but not too much. I think. Thank you for your reply Walt! :)

I know my value and I refuse to deal with people who do not know how to value me.  Not anymore.  Life is way too short to settle.  If that organization helps women, that is great.  I don't know what it is.    Walt's figures are very sad if they are accurate. I have made and spent far more than $150,000.  I feel like I am worth more than that.  Like at least six-8 figures.  AT LEAST 10,000,000
