Have you heard about the e-coli outbreak November 2019?

The recall is on all romaine lettuce grown in the Salinas Valley.  I had a nice big bowl of the recalled lettuce for dinner.  Should know by tomorrow if my pkg was contaminated.

Did you already know about the recall before eating that big bowl?

I didn't know either way. It wasn't made clear in your original post, it was the first thing I thought of, so I asked.

I do want to add the day before that I made a big bowl with fresh avocado. However the salad dressing I poured all over it had been in my refrigerator a tad bit to long.  I was annoyed when I had to throw the whole thing out.  The next day is when I fixed the second bowl and used the rest of the avocado and ate it.  The portion was little smaller though still quite bit. It all worked out, I'm still not sick.

Are you a daredevil, or did you not know?   Hope if you have complications you can sue someone.

I read the news an hour or two after eating it.  It has been 12 hours, I think I'm in the clear.

I think you're in the clear, too.  If it was contaminated, you would know by now.

It takes three or four days for symptoms to appear usually but can take up to 10 days.

I returned it to the store today but still have the receipt.  I also took pictures of the bag.

Scarce consolation if it was contaminated.

Very true.  Thriftymaid said it can take up to 10 days for symptoms to show up.  I still have a few more days to go.  When I returned the pkg, the woman who worked at the store said she had several returns that day.  I won't be the only one who becomes sick.

Sounds like you are in the clear thankfully.
I hope it is not widespread.

We go through about a head of romaine a day. And last time it took forever to get back on the shelves.

We have an African tortoise. And he eats the lettuce. They are not effected by the ecoli. When there are outbreaks we have find other healthy food for him.

We also normally have a salad with Thanksgiving dinner.

So you're saying that if we don't see you on here anymore after a few days, we should assume that you are dead and carry on without you? R.I.P.
