We can't always get everything we want. Sometimes maybe we can get a little bit which is better than nothing.

Years ago before my time Will Rogers was allegedly loved by everyone. He took shots at both parties and they took it in stride and still loved him. I don't know what his politics were but he seemed to be able to walk that line so that no one was offended. I think he would have made a great president in theory. In practice we will never know.
