If you mean by that animal's choice ... then, MAYBE.

Depends if you count coyotes and domestic dogs under the same species (canine).
Female coyotes will lure domestic dogs into ambush.

However, we are also the only animal to use other animals to "betray" their own kind.

SIGH. So we agree totally although you did it more eloquently and with backup(links). As usual. A sad reality Walt. So next time around animals rule right? We saw what would happen if it were apes. Which animals would you like to see in charge? Why? Thank you for your reply.

I'm not sure it's fair to apply the same standards to animal species as we do to human.

Most animal (or plant) species exist in ecological circumstances where food supplies are variable and uncertain, and there is a frequent (if not constant) threat of predation.

Hence, their motivations for action are very different than those of people who are operating in social structures where basic survival is not at stake.

If a lobster won't back down from a territorial challenge because access to food and mates are at stake, that's one thing. If a politician won't back down from a political challenge because it would be humiliating (even though the politician's access to life necessities would be unaffected), that's a very different thing.

You might have a point if all people did that, but they don't. It's not fair to paint everyone with the same broad brush.
