The "birther" question was raised years ago by Barack Obama's grandmother, who before Obama's ascension to the presidency, claimed that she was there when the baby was born in Kenya. If it's a lie, she's the one that said it and started the whole tempest in a teacup. The fact that the question of residency or birthplace hasn't been struck down by a federal court, makes the whole issue moot. As Howard Cosell used to say: I know it, you know it and the whole world knows it.
