How responsible is someone for spreading a lie if he has been told it is so and truly believes it? Is there any responsibility for said lying person to do investigating/researching/checking? Why?
If one actually believes the misinformation, then they aren't actually lying when they repeat it. By definition lying is stating information one knows to be untrue.
