While prayers are our way to communicate with God, they are not "sure things". Just because someone prays for something doesn't necessarily mean they'll receive it or that it's going to happen. God is immensely "smarter" that we are. He knows what's best and what's not (He can see the outcome of every possible scenario). God does things according to HIS will, not ours. God knows what His children need. But He also disciplines them (who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father?). One has to trust God and know that no matter what happens - good or bad - He is always in complete control... even when it doesn't seem that way.
Because they are so deluded by their selfish pride that they think evil is good. So they pray to the One who is good to perpetrate evil (which He cannot do). Then when evil does occur, they praise Him for it... and beg Him for more! As you have so rightly said many times, they are praying to satan.
Heard the latest? An EVANGELICAL major publication recommends removing Impeached for his immoral behavior. Of course Impeached struck back and now it puts Evangelicals in a pickle. Do they go against the RELIGION they boast about being so proud of or go against Impeached who will stalk them and dog them and insult them and attack them and take them down and out?
