Deliver us from the IRS lest they take a portion of our ill gotten gains.

Wealth always brings corruption.  It's deceitfully seductive.  Once a person gets a taste of it, they voraciously crave more - and will do almost anything to obtain it.    Wealth means power.  More money = more power.  Power feeds pride.

ALWAYS? Not so fast m'dear. A relative you've never met leaves you $10 million as you are his only relative. So you don't feel sad emotionally because you never even knew of his existence. Are you telling me that the money will CORRUPT YOU ABSOLUTELY? If you do I don't believe you. So there! Now it's your turn to tell me why you would be Corrupted Absolutely.  Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)

I may have worded that a bit wrong.  How about almost always?  I'm not saying they instantly become evil upon receiving it.  Just that typically wealthier people have more things afforded to them.   They nearly always get better treatment, have better things, and are able to do more that those without wealth.   Many even have friends that are more “influential”.  All this tends to go to a person’s head.  After they become accustomed what money can do, losing some or all of it becomes unthinkable.  How hard do you think it’d be for a billionaire to be forced to survive on <$30K /yr.?  Odds are very high that they’d do almost anything to make sure that never happens – no matter the cost.

I'm thinking we may have had prior conversations tangential to this Shuhak. Something along the lines of being able to help people in need? Sharing what we had with others. We don't need to have a whole lot to be content. I say Jim and I would buy a condo at the beach immediately. But well maybe we wouldn't. It would be very nice to never have to worry about outliving the money we have. Not that we worry on a daily basis but say the deadhead and his merry men drastically reduce social security and kill Medicare completely? Well our days would be numbered. Being wealthy enough to be independent of a wackadoodle president would be swell. SIGH. As for a billionaire surviving on $30K a YEAR? It would be spent the first week I betcha. One can dream but I don't really honestly know what we'd do if a lotta money came to us. I think first thing we'd hire a money advis if it were REALLY BIG BUCKS.. After that? I don't know but I'd sure like to find out! Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)
