For me it's a garlic press. My co-worker friend Fran gave it to me when I was about 21. She swore by it and said it does the best job. I'm 82 and I have used it constantly ever since. It's simple. It works beautifully. No fancy bells and whistles. No automated anything. You put the clove in the depression and press the other section down and out comes lovely minced garlic. EVERY TIME. So I think of Fran whenever I us it and wish I could let her know that.  She adored Barbra Streisand and kinda looked like Barbra. Fran's favorite ice cream flavor was coffee and she'd read that was Barbra's favorite flavor too. A shout out to her if she is still here on earth. Do you have anyone you'd like to give a shout out to? Why and why don't you?

Many of my kitchen tools are older than I am (inherited).   I mean I remember using the rotary beater as a bath toy when I was very young (made soap foam).  I have no clue if my parents bought this stuff new or at a thrift store before I was born.  It all still works fine... and, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Ditto here too m'dear. How's your day doing? Got most of your delightful contributions to the feast done or almost done? I've been having a ball this morning. Hope your day is very MERRY and next year is MERRIER FOR ALL OF US! Thank you for your reply Shuhak. I think that's really awesome though. Using what your mom used? I mean seriously how is that not proof of living on after you're gone? I am with you to the enth degree on "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I think we are among the few and far between though. Most everyone is anxiously seeking a better mousetrap. Not I. :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 25, 2019 10:20 AM MST

Lasagna's in the oven right now.  Once it comes out it's on to the ambrosia.

I hope you have a merry christmas too.
