If true as an Answermug friend reminds us that "love of money is the root of all evil" why not make it extinct and go back to BARTERING?

Because the PAPER is not the problem. It is the exchange.  If you barter, you are exchanging one root for another form of the same root.  GREED.

True, money in and of itself is nothing.  When a person puts money ahead of all else (loves it), greed takes over (intense selfish desire).  Greed can cause jealousy and envy. Envy can lead to hatred, even murder.

Alas, bartering has too much exclusivity and far too little universality.  If I am a sheep herder and butcher amongst a community of stone masons, whom do I call when my car breaks down?  Also, what if no one in my village cares for the taste of, or has an allergic reaction to, lamb or mutton?  If I cannot provide the sole product or service someone else needs at precisely the moment they need it, and vice versa, then the whole system breaks down.

So then how did we manage early on we engaged in bartering then? Have homo saps changed for the worse and can never go back again to whom we were? I shall ask. Thank you for your reply bevo and Happy Thursday to ya! :)

How would Ukraine pay us back for $400 million of weapons? Mail order brides?
