We don't all speak the same language. We rely on translators to inform us about what is being said. How do we KNOW the translations are accurate? Who audits/verifies/validates them? Anyone?

Do we just accept the words of translators without other outside objective substantiation/proof?  What if the translator screws up and no one is there to unscrew him/her? We are then left with words that are lies because they were not verified. And we promulgate those lies as if they are the truth. How do you feel about that?  Why?

Have another interpreter interpret the interpreter then maybe you will feel better. Why not?
