"US sending more troops to protect embassy in Iraq". Another Benghazi then again?

It's time to bid Iraq farewell.  A fortune was spent building that embassy with few people now to inhabit it.  Totally unnecessary expense.  The Iraqis clearly are not willing to, or capable of, protecting the embassy or its personnel.  Everyone has been evacuated.  We should blow it up and walk away.  Then we can bring our troops out, stop propping up their government with money and material and leave them to fend for themselves.  End of story.

I'm boggled at the number of places in the world we have troops L. Boggled. How many potential crises can we handle and if they all blow up (mixed metaphors..apologies) which do we address first? I mean we got so many things being juggled like a juggler with plates in the air. What if they all drop simultaneously? We have no allies. We have systematically alienated all of them. Wonder what's next on the agenda in D.C.?

We have troops everywhere.  I fear how our "allies" will respond in the event something really serious happens.  I know we are NATO members, but the truth is that they could respond with less assistance than they would have had if Trump hadn't alienated them.

The straw? The don ordered the killing of the top Iranian general yesterday. Where don is now I do not know. Not in D.C. Is this the final tipping? Thank you for your reply L. God helpt us.

I just read about this and, to say the least, this was not how I wanted the new year to begin.  This is a very serious event which could have catastrophic consequences.  Congress was not informed about this and Nancy Pelosi must be apoplectic.  So much for bring the troops home.

Yep. With the assassination of that top Iranian General and the Ayatollah Khomeini vowing "HARSH" retatliation this is not a good way to start a new year. Thank you for your reply L! :)

I thought we might have hit rock bottom at the end of last year, but I see the bottom is much farther down.  :)

Basically, the only voice we have is out vote, but not even that counts because of the Electoral College.  It's amazing how far Trump will go to divert from his impeachment.

I know that is exactly why he did it. He will continue doing anything and everything to distract from the fact he is IMPEACHED by the House. Lord have mercy on us! :)
