The Aussie fires are now being described as APOCALYPTIC*. 3 months of hot weather ahead with high winds. Worst fires ever?

*Apocalyptic

Imminent disaster and total or universal death and destruction

Thousands are fleeing to the shores. 175 homes destroyed. 17 dead. Containment isn't even on the table.

I don't remember the terrible California fires being described as apocalyptic. Is Armageddon far behind?

Will it begin in one country and spread like "wildfire" to all countries or will it flare up everywhere all at once together? The world united in the final battle for survival? It's a shame it takes destruction to unite us.

I can't recall if the California fires were described as apocalyptic, but I'm sure they were to the people in the middle of them.  The devastation any of these uncontrolled fires cause, no matter where they are, is incalculable.  I think that if climate change continues and there are more areas affected by drought, there will be severe consequences for the people of the Earth.

So floods wiped out everyone but Noah and his family and the ark allegedly the first time. What resounds in my mind is "The fire next time". I don't know if that is a religious thing or if someone wrote a book with that title. Still through all of this there are climate change deniers. I wonder what it will take to convince THEM? Meanwhile fires ravage wherever they break out. Thank you for your thoughtful answer L and Happy Thursday to you! :)

Happy Thursday and Happy New Year. :)

I'm not convinced that everyone and everything that was on the Ark was wiped out, but I'm sure that the climate has changed many times since the dawn of time.  The difference is that those were natural changes.  Today's changes are both natural and caused by mankind.  We cannot help natural change, but we can and should be attempting to minimize those created by man if there are ways that will reverse or halt the others.

Rosie, I know this question was asked a while back, but I just came across something that might answer your question.
