The fire next time? Allegedly GOD flooded the world due to the evil therein but saved Noah, his family and the ark. Are fires a portent?

A portent of things to come.

This is the way the world ends?

Or will it more like end by diseases taking over with no cures
Countries blowing up one another with nuclear weapons
Earthquakes of such magnitude worldwide there will be no survivors
Something from the sky crashing down on earth and doing irreparable damage

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

“For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the Lordof hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch

Oh, I could preach a sermon on this, but I'll try not to.

When crises happen people usually turn towards something higher - especially if they are beyond their control (natural disasters, wars, droughts, fgamine, etc.).  It's God's will that everyone turn to Him.  So God allows these things to happen in hopes that people will turn back to Him (even so He's still in full control of everything).  Several years ago this state was in a major drought.  All the scientists said that it would take a minimum of 2 years of well above normal snow and rain to even put a dent in it.  Yet in one winter the drought ended (north state).  God's in control.

Suffice to say, God will end the world there is no longer any "salt" left to preserve it.  In the meantime nations will wage war with nations, while floods, earthquakes and drought will plague the earth.  Yet no matter what happens, God is in firm control.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply Shuhak. Which is worse? Being savaged by a don of johns who is a crazed bull out of control or nuclear weapons annihilating us? GOD allows the minds of men to create such weapons. GOD creates a demon spawn like the don of johns to hasten our demise. The question is why is HE punishing us? Didn't HIS son die for our sins? SIGH. :(

God cannot do evil.  If He did He'd cease being God.  Our self-appointed king does his evil all on his own.
