Are we trapped? Is there no way out? We want to end forever wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. We can't retreat too quickly. What happens next?

Who fills the void when we leave? ISIS?

After the TRILLIONS of dollars we have spent on long wars what will have been accomplished?

George w bush and his ilk LIED us into a war with Iraq.

Dumb don will lie us into grievous harm and out of common sense every chance he gets.

We leave and chaos takes over and ISIS et al gain in strength and become huge. HUGER than before we stuck our nose in something it did not belong. So we bought time while we lost lives and spent trillions? This is a good thing BECAUSE? What kind idiot would think that?

It was Saudi Arabia we should have invaded. They were the cause of 9/11. But they're obscenely wealthy and have oil so of course we had to avoid harming the hair on their beards or their heads or their chests or arms or wherevers. All bow down to the great god money. All bow down to the great god oil. Sham scams and cons. The face of American politics. Don'tcha just LOVE IT?

We (the US) are a war-loving nation; always have been.  If we're not in a war of some kind, we get antsy.  Ever wonder why we have the most powerful military in the world?

We like to think of ourselves as the world's police.  As such, we set the standard of what's 'acceptable" and what's not.  Therefore, if we don't like how a country operates, we impose sanctions against them, bomb them, or outright invade them.  Of course, since we set the standard, we can also bend that standard to suit our needs.  In other words, we can be bribed.  Sure we do some acts of kindness for everyone... got to keep up our image as a "friendly" nation.  But if you really want us to 'watch your backside", our services are available to the highest bidder.

As a nation, we are becoming more and more corrupt each day.   Not necessarily the citizens (we have a lot of good individuals in this country), but rather the leaders (politicians).  People tend to follow their leaders (hence the name "leader"); and many follow blindly.  Therefore when a leader becomes (is) corrupt, so are many of the citizens.

Only the corrupt sanctify and worship the corrupt. Dumb don did not turn these adoring worshippers. They were waiting for someone just like him to follow over the cliff. They got their wish. We watch and wonder and worry and wait. What comes next? Anything that occur to dumb don. How fun. No. No fun. Thank you for your thoughtful and very sad analysis Shuhak. Stuck with a loser in charge who is crackpot wackadoodle. What could go wrong? Gotta ask. :)
