What if the things you learn go against what you thought was true and upends your entire political/religious beliefs? Do you still want to know or is ignorance bliss? Why?
what comes to mind is
when i was in catholic school
i was an atheist, i was in ignorance
of the existence of God.
...but later when i had a deep experience of
oneness in consciousness, well...that experience woke me up to
the depth of consciousness. I opened my heart to this experience
and wanted the depth of this knowledge.
...once i had done this (opened my heart to this experience)
literally i was taken across the globe and placed at the feet of my spiritual teachers.
...so ignorance be gone
so the light of knowledge within can shine brightly
That's why why we practice everyday in changing the past.
I have people working hard to make sure the past conforms to whatever I'm saying at the time.
