DAVOS is where the world's movers and shakers congregate. Being IMPEACHED IN THE HOUSE FOREVER and undergoing the IMPEACHMENT JOURNEY IN THE SENATE makes him an object of ridicule derision contempt. Those there surely behind his back are making fun of him. To his face they are duplicitous as he is. After all they are all used to duplicity. Masters at it or they would not be where they are politically would they?
I think don john wanted to stay here in his jammies in his bed watching FAUX NEWS 24/7 and tweeting a bajillion angry furious enraged tweets 24/7. He'd like to get dressed occasionally and be giving press conferences where he rails at what is going on in real time. He'd like to be holding rallies 24/7 everywhere to counteract the SENATE IMPEACHMENT not thousands of miles away in a foreign land surrounded by people who view him as the class clown, court jester. Unless he is entirely oblivious to it and really believes he is the star of that show. Could he be that obtuse?
