Unfortunately, the injured troops will be waiting a very long time unless a Trump advisor can convince him to issue an apology and scripts it for him.

I recently read some articles discussing Trump's observed behavior, and several experts believe his dementia is getting significantly worse. They have noticed physiological symptoms (very stiff gait, constantly leaning on objects for support, his two-handed drinking method, etc.) which suggest he has poor and deteriorating motor control. Similarly, they notice in his speech patterns that his mind seems to periodically "reset" where he hesitates, pauses, then continues on in a direction unrelated to his previous utterances.

Expecting conventional human decency from someone who was already severely narcissistic and who also has late-stage dementia is not realistic. This post was edited by SaltyPebble at January 26, 2020 7:40 AM MST

How dangerous is he in this state to the State of our Union SP? Since he still has total control of the country and is in the driver's seat how soon before we go over the cliff or do you see some hope of intervention just in time? It is peculiarly queer/odd/bizarre how unconcerned the Republican eunuchs and the don cabal et al all seem to be. Having the prez stay prez is their holy grail and all they care about. The ramifications of that seem to be of no concern to them. Now we know don is incapable of seeing future consequences of his actions. All of the don lovers seem to be equally incapable of the same thing. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday to thee! :) This post was edited by RosieG at January 26, 2020 7:46 AM MST

    It does concern me.

Some might argue that the USA has survived similar situations before. Woodrow Wilson, FDR, John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan all governed with significant medical issues (I'm probably forgetting a few others), and evidence suggests Nixon was a major alcoholic by the time he resigned.

The danger, of course, is that our political structures and political practices were significantly different during previous administrations. While I don't think every GOP politician is a clone of Trump, they ALL are dependent upon the MAGAts for reelection. It is easier for politicians to stand up for principles if they perceive either an electoral benefit or minimal electoral consequences. Going against The Orangeness and his cult of personality is a risky proposition for most GOP officeholders. This post was edited by SaltyPebble at January 26, 2020 7:57 AM MST

he cannot apologize.  he doesn't know how.  But he'll lie through his teeth to make it appear that what he said is true.

LIke he redrew the map of the path of a Hurricane to include a state he insisted was affected. The SOB is a hopeless blob of blathering gibberish with the power to blow up the world. Ironic isn't it? Thank you for your reply Shuhak and Happy Monday.

Yes. You refer to the Zombified former homo saps who are the adoring worshipper/devotees of don. To quote someone we all know and love "Forgive them Father for they know not what they do". SIGH. Thank you for your reply Shuhak! :)

I figure there is a reason he down played it and his poor mental health has nothing to do with it. If he said that 34 American troops were seriously hurt as a result of the missal attack - it would be expected that he do something about it. Cheers!
