That appears to be the DNC choice.  They just changed the rules to get Bloomberg in a debate. (Eliminating the donor requirements) They did not change it for any other candidates who are now gone.

As for what happens, Trump re-election.

Mike Bloomberg is a self-made billionaire.  He is intelligent, thoughtful, understands diplomacy and tact, is not a narcissist, doesn't need to see his name up in lights everywhere he goes and would work with our allies rather than insult them.  He would make a far better president than Trump.

We're not only in same book, on the same page and line but on the same words L. I agree with everything you wrote. Yet it is still a white man representing the Democratic Party which advertises itself as the party of diversity. Kinda hard to sell if you elect superficially the same person the opposition elects don'tcha think? Appearances matter. Thank you for your reply! :)

What matters, in my opinion, is who will do the best job.  I would not vote for someone based on the color of their skin.

I understand L. AS MLK jr said he wants his kids to be judged on the content of their character not on the color of their skin. No one has ever said it better. Thank you for your reply. I stand by my comment even so. Apologies. Appearances MATTER. You can talk the talk but it means NOTHING if you don't walk the walk. We did it once twice...Barack Obama. Is that our debut and our swan song? First term and then re-election and then we fall back into the same old pattern? SIGH. This post was edited by RosieG at February 1, 2020 8:55 AM MST

You and I don't always agree on everything and we both know that's OK. :)  I remember when JFK was running.  They said the country would never elect a Catholic.  One and done.  Obama was elected because the country was sick of the GOP ruining it.  Whether he was one and done remains to be seen.  So, now it's time for a Jewish president and we have several from which to choose. :)  Let's see what happens because a lot of people are sick and tired of Trump and the GOP in general.  :)

Now I'm reading about "ANYONE BUT BERNIE" crap coming from the DNC. Geez that's all we need. Why can't folks just shut up and vote for the person they think will do the best job QUIETLY without throwing mud at anyone? Why is it so hard to just do THAT? Remember when John McCain wanted Joe Lieberman to be his running mate and that got shot down(I dunno if it was because Joe used to be a Dem and became an Independent or because Joe was Jewish) and what McCain got instead was a punchline in Palin. I guess we wait and see. Thank you for your reply L! :) This post was edited by RosieG at February 2, 2020 12:20 PM MST

I agree.  I think McCain rued the day he agreed to Palin as his running mate.  But for her, he might have been elected.

Do you mind if I just try and swallow the bile from the impeachment?  Before we venture forward?
