That's what occurred to me L! It's not like they haven't done this tons of times before. That's why I think they received "lots of help" to get it to be this much of a disaster. No excuses at all. They should have tested that app six ways from Sunday for MONTHS to make sure it was dependable. They DESERVE all the discredit for not being on top of it and will NEVER LIVE THIS DOWN. It's a sad day when DEMS show they can be as stupid dumb as their opposites. SIGH. Thank you for your reply! :)

One guy after waiting on hold for over an hour to give his results was hung up on. Just stupid. 

Something stinks bigly Walt but THAT IS NO EXCUSE for the folks in charge who have done this only a bazillion times to have TESTED THE DAM* APP repeatedly to make sure it was dependable. They didn't even test it once? You gotta be kidding me! What a buncha dumb dorks. And the beat goes on. If don doesn't mention this in his SOTU I will be amazed. I'm gonna ask. I don't know if it was ignorance, or on purpose.

I just found out this week, that one of our departments with a point-of-sale system is getting an upgrade ... and they created a new code.
Well, that code is supposed to transmit from that system to payroll.
Because nobody told me anything, there is no "receiving" code in the payroll system.
So hundreds of dollars of charges (by employees) will NOT be processed by payroll, and deducted from pay checks.

Seriously? So incompetence ineptness and lack of logical thinking is alive and well in our country! Isn't that comforting? I wonder how often this kind of action occurs? Those in charge who do the changing are incapable of getting a handle on potential consequences. They get a grand idea and are so hot to implement it they do not do due diligence in preparing for it. Allegedly EVENTUALLY we are going to get the results. Almost every one of them are claiming victory which is absurd since they do not know a dam* thing about what actually happened. Disgusting and it could have been avoided. Makes no sense. If it were the FIRST IOWA CAUCUS ever I'd chalk up to ignorance because they had never done it before. I am not sure that traditional balloting could produce the results as quickly as an "app" due to diseconomies of scale.   

And are the ballots not now being counted in the traditional way---which is the reason for the delay of the results?

Please. They are counting people standing in a gym. Of they cannot do that, they need to go home. They should have had the total for each precinct before the people left and ANNOUNCED the total to the attendees.
There should always be a paper back up. 

And one woman at the caucus wanted her card back---what material do you think that's made of?.

Simple...count the people. Verify the count while the people are there.   So the people there know it was accurate. 

The voter is not allowed to take the paper back up. 

Bernie Sanders is going to be President.  No matter who is standing in a gym or what they are trying to count.

Well if the company they hired was a Ringer whose purpose was to make them all look foolish it was a resounding success! If this were the very first time a caucus were held and this was the result well we'd say they screwed up but it was part of the learning curve. But how many decades have there been Iowa caucuses? They want us to believe they ignored SOP? Implementing a brand new thing WITHOUT TESTING IT OUT FIRST? Give me a break! WHO DOES THAT? So something definitely stinks. Iowa now has a black eye. But you know 90% of the population is white. How does that remotely resemble Americans? They're older too. I wonder what state demographic is most representative of American diversity? So far it looks like a neck-and-neck battle between Mayor Pete and Ernie with liz in the third place and Biden an embarrassing 4th.
