There's a huge difference between ignorance and apathy. Apathy is rarely formed out of ignorance, more often from an abundance of knowledge with which one can change little to nothing.

That is tough to answer because ignorance has three meanings. It is a voluntary act of ignoring available knowledge, an accidental lack of awareness, and a general insult.

Apathy is due to indifference FNR.  Many people don't give a rat's a** about a lot of things that don't concern them. If it has to do with them you can bet they will pay attention. Otherwise? As far they're concerned you can go suck a rock. They don't care about you at all.  Ignorance is a choice. Apathy may not be. It may be due to depression or other medical conditions over which one has no control. My opinion. Thank you for your reply!  :)

Most of the people I know who choose not to pay attention to current events or participate in elections (I presumed that's where you were going with this) do so not because they choose to be ignorant--they actually know quite a bit about how these things are supposed to wotk--they opt out of it because the find it an unwinnable, rigged theater.
