If you refer to people as "libs" or "dems" in a derogatory way,

...but also every opinion you have on politics is probably worthless.

  • What if it's in a complimentary way, though? : )

  • And same would go for those who constantly go on about the "right wingnuts" or the "racist....bigots....alt right...."

If you cannot talk using facts, I don't see much point to it.

  • "Right wingnuts" is a new one to me. "Right wing nutjobs", or RWNJ is what I usually see. I agree, that one is not very nice. But it's apt for some conservatives.

"Racist" and "bigot" - this is a very touchy one. I've noticed recently a lot of right wingers firing back that this is the left's go-to complaint or insult. While in some cases it is nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction, in many cases it is justified. Just the other day, Trump was complaining that Democrats just shout "racist" to try to shut him up, as if he had never done or said anything questionable in his whole little life.

"Alt right" - this is another one that has a double edge to it. It's not really a pejorative to me. I have seen actual alt-righters describe themselves using it. It's just a term for a particular branch of right wing ideology. I saw its formation coming long before Clinton mentioned it in her latest speech.

Facts - sure, but everybody thinks the facts are on their side. You also need to be able to apply reason to make those facts useful. People are not inherently reasonable creatures.
