It's an ancient news aggregator site where people post news stories, photoshops and whatever, and generally people try to make funny comments on them. Lot of in-jokes that the casual onlooker probably won't get.

As you might expect, there is no evidence to be found for the claim that 3 millions "illegals" voted. The "dead" voters thing has been shouted from many rooftops, but I've yet to see any evidence of any substantial number of fraudulent votes being cast in this way.

"Racist" and "bigot" - this is a very touchy one. I've noticed recently a lot of right wingers firing back that this is the left's go-to complaint or insult. While in some cases it is nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction, in many cases it is justified. Just the other day, Trump was complaining that Democrats just shout "racist" to try to shut him up, as if he had never done or said anything questionable in his whole little life.
"Alt right" - this is another one that has a double edge to it. It's not really a pejorative to me. I have seen actual alt-righters describe themselves using it. It's just a term for a particular branch of right wing ideology. I saw its formation coming long before Clinton mentioned it in her latest speech.

But the idea that human beings tend to notice and remember facts that confirm an idea more easily than facts that don't confirm it, is a bare fact of human psychology. It's not a new idea either. Francis Bacon (considered to be the father of the scientific method) noticed it and wrote about it nearly 400 years ago:

    http://peterlevine.ws/?p=13386

So, if someone were to tell you that they know a certain proposition is true, because they have seen the evidence for themselves, and then go on to dismiss confirmation bias as a possible cause for their belief, because they have not personally seen evidence that confirmation bias is real, exactly how barking mad would you rate that person to be?  less
