Movies with Time Travel.

If your life was a movie and you could time travel, would you rather go forward in time or backward. You can change your current footprint, either way.   Please explain, if you don't mind, why you chose the option you did.  Thanks! :) :)

Thank you for the friend request.  You're right.  Time travel really isn't the message either of these movies deal with.  Both movies ask the question, "If you could change your life-choices, would you, knowing what you know now?"  Your immediate situations are conclusions to your former choices.
That would have been a much better way to ask the question I was aiming for.
This is one of the many reasons I leave the question asking to the professional-asking-question gurus.  Even if they are wonderfully goofy questions, they are good at it!
Thank for answering ProdigalSon and I look forward to a wonderful friendship together.  :) :)

I didn't know which movie to pick - - I'm one of the few human beings who didn't particularly enjoy either movie.
    :)

As far as going forward or backward in time, I'd most likely go with Prodigal Son's answer and reasoning.

Welby, you are a true friend for even answering.  Thank you for your continued caring and understanding.
Neither are my favorite movie, either.  They were the only movies I could think of that asked the "real question" I was trying to ask.
I SO suck at asking questions!!  You are one of the those gifted, "Asking Questions Gurus" I was referring to under ProdigalSon.  I'm SO VERY glad you ARE!
Just so you know, I've never actually seen, "The Minority Report," through and through.  It was a movie on Cinemax a few too many times that Don tuned into.  I seemed to always keep myself busy on nights he watched it.  That sort of movie isn't really my "cup of tea," either.
Until next time, "stay well" and know I am sending you happy thoughts and good vibes, always!  Thanks for answering Welby! Love, Merlin

I am cracking up!  The Olive Garden and the lunch rush??  Well, if I could, I would have you beat the lunch crowd everyday at the Olive Garden and give you free lunch at bread sticks for life!  What about Bennigans?  Or T.G.I.F.s?  Do you ever go to lunch there??
Thanks for answering LoonLips!  You're Awesome!!
Before I go, may I be so bold as to ask what you have drawn on the bottom half of what I assuming to be your face and not a stranger's face?  It looks lke you drew a cat-like nose above your lip and a void space on your chin?  Is that what it is?  I've been dying to ask for a while but I'm not sure of the purpose if it has one.  If not, that's "way cool" too.  I just was wondering... inquiring minds would like to know!  Big smiles and Giggles!

Can I pick Titanic? Jack Dawson was quite definitely a time traveller.

Watching the movies of your life, I’d fast-forward through all the boring parts and just watch the sex scenes. Oh, wait, those aren’t the boring parts, are they?  Grrrrrrr.

    Hi Slartibartfast~

Thanks for your answer and your "clip of thought." :) :)

Here's my thought back to you in 22 words:

Hollywood Magic does wonders for your soul and spirit, especially coupled with James Cameron.
A few tidbits of fun to follow through:

    1. Replacement Reels Were A Necessity

Don’t feel too bad if you’re like us and couldn’t get enough of the movie—both when it came out and now. (We’re holding our breath for a different ending, OK?!) Paramount actually had to send replacement reels to theaters because cinemas wore out their copies.

    Adobe

    2. Leo’s Hands Weren’t His Own In The Drawing Scene

The hands seen drawing Rose in the “Heart of the Ocean” scene are not Leonardo DiCaprio’s. Instead, they belong to director James Cameron. Cameron not only drew Rose, he also drew every sketch Jack carries around in his binder.

    Adobe

    3. The First Scene Filmed Was One Of The Raciest

Speaking of the drawing scene, it was actually the first scene filmed for the movie—even though it’s in pretty much the middle of the film. Talk about a way to “break the ice.” (Pun intended).

    4. J. Dawson Was A Real Person

There was a real J. Dawson! Director James Cameron says he didn’t know there was a Dawson aboard the ship when he wrote the movie. Joseph Dawson was a member of the Titanic crew.

    5. They Had One Shot To Get It Right

In the scene where the water comes flooding through the Grand Staircase room, filmmakers only had one shot because the entire set was destroyed. To make the destruction so dramatic, they dropped 90,000 gallons of water onto the staircase.

    6. Cameron’s Research Involved Some Serious Deep-Sea Diving

Director James Cameron went on dives to the real Titanic. He ended up spending more time with the ship than the living passengers did.

    Adobe

    7. The Runtime Is Significant

The runtime of the movie from the first time Titanic leaves port all the way to the sinking is 2 hours, 40 minutes—exactly how long it took the real Titanic to sink.

    Adobe

    8. The Older Rose Wasn’t THAT Old

With a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at age 87, Gloria Stuart (who played the older Rose), became the oldest person ever to be nominated for an Oscar. Her character in the movie was 101, so makeup was used to make Stuart appear older. She died in 2010 at age 100. (Bonus fact: She was the only person who worked on the film who was actually living when the Titanic sank.)

    9. Building The Titanic Cost Almost As Much As Making The Movie

It cost $7.5 million to build the Titanic. Taking inflation into consideration, that would be about $180 million today. James Cameron’s budget for the film was $200 million in 1997.

    10. You Probably Knew The Water Was Freezing—But Man, That’s Cold

The temperature of the seawater in the area where Titanic sank was -2 degrees Celsius (28.4 degrees Fahrenheit). In the film when Rose is looking for Jack through the corridors of the ship, her reaction to the water is genuine—it was from the Pacific Ocean and was very cold. Kate Winslet did not wear a wet suit while filming the scenes with the colder water and in turn came down with pneumonia.

    11. Hallucinations Were Experienced

While the hypothermia experienced by the ship’s passengers could certainly cause some bizarre behavior, hallucinations experienced by cast and crew on the set of the film were from a

(Bet you didn't think I could do it in 22 words , hu?!) Big Giggles!! :) :)

This is fabulous.  But that movie had ZERO to do with time travel.

Those sound like pretty sad movies but hopefully there is light at the end or through all of them and that might be that no matter what time we are travelling, let it be a good time.
    :):)
Thanks, Nice Jugs for stopping by and answering this goofy poll. :) :)

I despise Tom Cruise immensely, so I want no association with him whatsoever.

I had no idea you felt so strongly about the Scientography chap!
Or Sciencetology?  Whatever the heck it is he is in charge of.
You didn't like Risky Business with one of the "do me more" sisters??
Amazing!  No Top Gun? Or Far and Away?  No Legend?  Or Days of Thunder?  Those are the only movies I can think of at the moment.  I guess this goes to show I'm not a big fan, either!
As I wrote to Welby, I don't know much about the Minority Report.  I just know he was in it because it was on in our living room more than once and that was one time too many! :) :)  How are ya??

It’s not that I dislike any particular movie starring Tom Cruise, it’s that I can’t stand Tom Cruise himself. Uggghhh.

Then why do you hang out with him?  I know.  It's the circle of friends you both travel in.  You have to.
Leave me a note in that spot we both know on one of Suri's many mansions.  I'll have Don pick it up.  He drives by one of them everyday on his way to work.
I drive the easy side of the canyon because I have a heart. I don't want to ruin our cars which are already on their last wheels.  :(.  I have to admit.  It's also quicker to get to my work but only by 6 minutes.  We've timed it.  Why am I telling you this??? Probably because I SHOULD be Going to Work right Now and am justifying my actions of sitting here writing you!!
I'm sure your reasons are worthy.  You don't have to read me the note.  I believe you.
I will say, however, in his defense and anyone's defense.  If you don't know them personally, you certainly can't place judgement on what you read, see, or hear.  You must know the person, personally to place your judgement.
For all I know, you could be Mr. Tom Cruise himself!  He's just person, just like you.  Like him or not, I'll give you the scoop on the next party he will be attending. ...
Big Winks and Smiles and Loves and Hugs, Randy D!!
I've got to get to work because I leave for San Francisco on Saturday and I have TONS of things to do before I go!

Hugs and Loves and Good Thoughts and Happy Vibes,
    Always!
    Love, Merlin :) :)

I cannot think of any that I can stand.  UGH.  I hated 12 Monkeys, it still makes no sense.  I hate the Butterfly Effect so much I won't even watch it.  I hate WHAT IF's.  They just don't come close to what IS.
