I was still spanked fairly regularly at age 13, less at age 14 and either once or twice when I was 15.  All were bare bottomed.  Some from each parent, that same as it had always been.

I knew that someone had just got a spanking but in all except 2- 3 cases, I didn't even know the family.  
In the case of my friend, I knew exactly who was getting her bottom paddled and I actually listened to the end of it while standing on the sidewalk leading to their door. (Not smart, I know.)  I'm sure that this is why her mother came out and spoke to me.  What really struck me was that I could hear the loud smack of the paddle landing on her poor bottom loud and clear a fraction before her scream.  I recall now that she later told me that the spanking was so harsh because her mother found that she had some cigarettes in her room.
