The FBI uncovers a Child Terrorist training camp in Macon County, AL. Is it time to build a wall around Alabama and New Mexico?

A compound uncovered by the FBI in Macon County, Alabama. Designed to arm and train young recruits to become terrorists, the training ground was led by Siraj Wahhaj, who had been arrested previously in New Mexico for spearheading a similar compound found there in March 2019.

    Silly guy.

There are at least 35 known terrorist training camps in the USA.  That was ten years ago.  I'm sure the number is different today. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at February 10, 2020 5:33 PM MST

    I'm not silly.

This is new. We know that under Trump, these types of camps have propagated This post was edited by Jon at February 10, 2020 3:42 PM MST

I already knew about the site in Tuskegee; it's not new.

  • Is this something just recently discovered by the FBI or has it been known for some time now but the story is suddenly gaining traction?  In reading this thread Thriftymaid seems to be more keenly aware of the goings on than the FBI is.

  • Well how long does it take to get a search warrant?  Gotta wonder how long they sit on information sometimes.

There are requirements for getting a search warrant.
The guy kidnapped his son and police could not get a warrent because they did not have proof he was there.

The pilice do not require a warrant if they have probable cause

Wrong. Probable cause cannot grant access to a private property unless the police have directly witnessed a crime or evidence it in plain sight.

  • WRONGM. They just need probable cause that a crime is taking place or a fugitive is hiding.  They do it all the.time.

  • Well that's the insidious part.  Thanks to corrupt, power-hungry, freedom-squashing Republicans and thier precious, illegal "Patriot Act" that was force fed down everyone's throat...they dont have to.  Constitutional rights of citizens be danned.      WRONG

    The requirement of probable cause
according to the 4th ammendment to the U.S. Constitution states,

the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be searched.

And here is the best part, GOAT.  The FBI has been totally gutted by Trump.  They have about as much clout as I have.

Prior to Trump's Presidency ... the FBI was basically told to stay out of Portland, Oregon immediately after passage of The Patriot Act.
Oregon has basically forbidden all law enforcement agencies from cooperating with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force.
(that is why Oregon is a "safe haven" for eco-terrorists)

    This is an old story.
AL was raided in Dec 2017 and NM in Aug 2018.

The family has ties to the WTC bombing in 2003. The father was listed as an unindicted conspirator.
