What do I think is shocking? How people seek being insulted over the most innocuous things.
Once upon a time an Answerbagger told me that when folks complimented her she was very suspicious of their motives. She wondered what they wanted from her. She was never happy or comfy. That shocked the he** outta me.
So what do you think is patronizing and suspicious? Do you prefer curt short brief succinct colorless homogenized impersonal? What offends you that would normally be received gladly by others? I just wonder why we are wired as we are. Why sincere people who speak sincerely can be marginalized and reduced to either wanting something or being patronizing. Seriously. It's a minefield out there. Step cautiously or better yet stay where you are and don't venture forth for any reason. Sigh.
