    An interesting and thought-provoking article, Tom. Thank you for showing it.

    Though I have not heard the term "single stream" used here (UK) many British county-councils including my own, do use it or something akin to it. I have not heard of it giving  many problems though, other than contamination by people putting the wrong types of material in the green recycling bin.

    We  have though all heard reports of former importers of waste now reducing or stopping the imports, and one country - Indonesia I think - turned a huge shipment of waste back, saying it has enough!

    It is a very serious problem, and it seems each time you find one solution another problem appears.

  • We still had it in IL as of a few years ago.  We have it in VA currently.
