We took a boy scout troop once a year camping for a week. A lot of fun. We used tents, of course. They had a primitive shower at our campsite.

"A lot of fun"? Sounds like a lot of work to me E. Did they earn merit badges while there? Were they very helpful in setting things up? Thank you for your reply E. Were you a Scoutmaster or just an active parent who was there to assist?

It was work, but that is part of scouting. We all had fun with few complaints. Lots of merit badges. I was a Scoutmaster for a year. The Navy gave me free leave to take them since it was service related.

    Two weeks in a tent.
    10 days in camper.

Yes, most camp ground will have a large bathroom with showers for their customers.  Sites have electric, water and some even have cable tv.

There are some "primitive" campgrounds....no electric, no water, no toilets/showers. But these are not the norm.  I do not understand using those. If that is what you want just pop up a tent on the river bank.

We did too. Driving home from visiting family we went over a bridge and said it looked like good fishing. We went the next weekend. I had told my Dad we were going and he was worried to death all weekend. He did not tell me at the time.  Lol
